This Project was designed in 2 phases. The landscape design involves creating an experiential link between the varied disjoint open spaces. The Open spaces are of varied scales for different functions. Elements and concepts from the vernacular context have been expressed in abstract, in this design. The landscape design of the court within the Corporate Block, was inspired by the Indian “kund” or step well. The stepped terraces of the pond work as an informal amphitheatre. A “rainbow” has been captured within the design of this court, by careful orientation and design. Spaces have been created for passive recreation, interaction and large scale congregations. The contemplative court design has been inspired by a “mandala” – a 9 square grid, which finds a special significance in Indian culture and tradition. An outdoor dining space, an informal play area, and an aromatic walkway have been designed near the dining block. A system for Rainwater water management has been detailed in this project.
